oRBiting Study
The goal of the study is seek characterize different scales to measure repetitive and restricted behaviors in different ASD sub-populations over time and also to explore the use of digital bio-markers. The results from this study will inform the planning and setup of future intervention studies in programs aimed to treating restrictive and repetitive behaviors in ASD.
 

Who can participate:

  • Individuals with an ASD diagnosis, between the ages of 5 - 45 years old. 
  • Neurotypical individuals, between the ages of 5-12 years old. 

Study participation includes:

  • The total duration of the study (from screening to the study completion) for each participant will be approximately 15 weeks. This includes a Screening Visit, Baseline Visit, two Clinical Visits, and two phone calls for checking in. 
  • At the visit, the participant will need to complete a series of assessments and questionnaires
  • The participant will be provided with a smartphone. This smartphone has an application designed to  It will be expected of the participant to engage with the smartphone application on a daily basis. The time required by the application should only be 10 to 15 minutes a day. 
  • The participant and family will be provided with wearable technology. It will be expected of the participant (and family) to wear the technology and for monitoring purposes. 
  • The caregiver will be expected to do daily reports on the smartphone. These reports should be no more than 5 minutes. 
  • Participants will receive compensation for each visit.
